Craniosacral Therapy (without the biodynamic context) is more protocol driven. A practitioner will feel something in the body and will apply a protocol to address that issue. In the biodynamic model, a practitioner orients to the deep intelligence in the body that underlies a stuck place, wound or trauma, which then allows for the slow unwinding and return to balance and health. Life wants to heal itself; a biodynamic practitioner supports the conditions in which life can do exactly that.

There is a way of being in your environment and contextualizing yourself in the environment that recognizes that you’re not just an individual. Once you let go of the idea, that your whole self is contained within your skin, many other possibilities exist. There isn’t a concept in our culture about space in the sense of how are we part of the space. We are not separate from the space, we are not separate from the environment, we’re not separate from nature, but our mindset is. So once you start playing around with those boundaries, a whole world opens up where you find out that the self-healing process happens with the self in relationship to the environment, or the self in relationship to nature.

No. We work with how your past has impacted your body and mind through the symptoms that you are experiencing now. I gently guide you to practice awareness and presence with body sensations and emotions so that you can experience the transformation that happens when long-standing conditions and symptoms are regarded with a different approach.

Sessions are tailored to follow whatever is most “alive” at the time of your appointment. Generally speaking, I will guide you into slower and deeper awareness of your body and mind through inquiry and conversation. If your session is in person, we will most likely work on the massage table with light and subtle hands on touch and energetic attunement for deep relaxation and unwinding. For virtual sessions, you can choose to sit down comfortably or lay down in your own space. The only difference for virtual work is lack of physical touch.

It depends! Many people feel warmth, stomach gurgling, surprising emotions, see visual imagery or colors, unwinding and lengthening throughout the body, or even deep relaxation that can feel very much like sleep. Some people don’t feel much of anything but a sense of clarity and refreshment. All experiences are welcome, and we can look at all of the aspects of your experience as expressions of your inner wisdom.
